To get a nice dark glossy surface by oxidising your silver jewelry parts.

Welcome to Smyks guide to darkening (oxidation) of silver.
Please note that oxidation liquid must be treated with care and should be kept cool, airtight and dark. The liquid can be reused many times if kept correctly.
The fluid should only be used on silver parts.
Note that the use of this guide and these materials is at your own risk.

Materials:
Oxidation liquid Gosiba (not shipped outside Denmark)
Tweezers
Plastic containers
Rubber gloves
Silverparts
Silver polishing cloth
Pour the liquid into a small container
Clean the silver thoroughly for grease stains and make sure it is completely dry, otherwise it will have blotches.

Take the topic with a tweezer and dip it completely into the liquid for 8-15 seconds.
Take up the silver and see if it is dark enough. The silver will never get completely black but very dark gray as in the picture.
Rinse the silver thoroughly in cold water.
Pour the oxidation liquid back into the bottle (it can be recycled but is becoming a little weaker with time)

The silver may seem shield and dull to look at, so to get a dark glossy surface polish the silver gently, for example with a silver polishing cloth.
If the oxidation seems uneven, you can try giving it one more time.
